Newbie Saying Hi to One and All!

T

TeeDee

Hi everyone. Recently retired from work and now the Other Half has decreed that I'm not going to get fat and idle! Her first command is the bathroom - new furniture, units, tiles (wall and floor) - the whole shebang really. I've got everything out at the moment 'cept bog and shower. Old tiles are off the walls (left them on for the mo in the shower cubicle) and the walls have been replastered with finishing coat (still drying out - only went on this Sunday). ANY - I do mean any - advice will be gratefully accepted as and when, so I thank everyone in anticipation!
PS
I'm also going to rip up the old floor (mix of chipboard and T & G) and I would appreciate advice on the 18 mm ply I'm going to replace this with - my local Jewsons want £66 for Brazilian 8' x 4' - my local builders merchants say I don't need that, ordinary WPB (?) will do at £24. Help.

Helo TeeDee and welcome to the forums..........

I think 22mm wbp ply would be better.....make sure you add extra noggins etc , so you can fix the ply down at about 300mm centres.........just shout when you need help there is always somebody about to help......
