The floor is done now, and we've had advice from BAL that this would work. So changing it now is not an option...

This is slightly off topic but do any of you know about skirting in bathrooms - is wood or MDF a better choice in terms of moisture resistance?

wood is better than MDF (imo), have you thought about tiled skirtings?

Don't think we want tiled skirting. I prefer wood skirting in general, but wasn't sure if MDF copes better in a damp environment - isn't wood likley to warp?

Is there a good alternative to BAL single part fastflex then? We've got a chipboard floor hence the choice.

0121 508 6970 is Mapei Tech. Mapei is the world's largest manufacturer of building materials and as a result they have really really good products at really appealing prices. You'll find an alternative that will be much much cheaper than fastflex, be it single or two-part.

MDF is more likely to deteriorate, it soaks up moisture like a sponge.
