Discuss Newcastle BNI Group in the Canada Tile Advice area at TilersForums.com.

A group where 10-20 people meet round a table every week and pay £10 or so and get endless amounts of jobs from it?!?!, and 1 lucky bloke who organises these things gets £100+ for 1 hrs work, and then moves onto the next group for another hours wage, then the same the next day.

That's the impression I got IMO.

Pretty much the same view as I have. I have been invited many times but declined. I know for a fact it can work in terms of networking but its give and take. All depends on the other members and what they have to offer you.

You've got it spot on there marra, its all about who's in the group and we have a good trade section (plasterer, plumber, sparky, joiner). It does take time and its not for every one. Just thought this would be an ideal place to ask for a good tiler who might be interested.................

I can't stand them. There are loads of types of these and generally I don't see many saying they're awesome. Generally the people saying they're awesome are the ones trying to get out of them and find a mug to replace their spot. Ha

You would network better physically by being out there with builders and plumbers on your general jobs.

Getting 10 or 20 blokes on a day they should be at work, out of work to chat about work just sounds counterproductive alone. And it is.

Fair enough maybe it is a case of finding the right one then. Plumbers seem to be touting it the most and most say they've found it too time consuming to warrant small the amount of work the get. You do hear of the odd one it was good for though but always thought it was a bit myth ha
