Noggings

Hi is it ok to use 4x4's for the nogging? Thought maybe these would be better than just using 4x2's

Noggins were used to stop the joists from twisting, if your joists are 6x2 as an example I would use 4x2's....

Hi whitebeam joists are 7x2's I thought with using 4x4 it will be better with off setting and still having enough meat to screw down into.

I don't it's going to move much with 4x4's, won't do any harm mate.

That's an expensive way to do it though. You might struggle to get 4" timbers in in places if like most cavities under a bathroom floor you have pipes galore.

Thought that aligage think I'll stick with 4x2 and keep costs down
