Have any of you had this happen to you.I myself have not had this problem but have any of you had jobs where you didn't get paid for the job?
The builder I do alot of work for has just settled in the end out of court for a job he did 2 years ago.He was meant to be paid £17000 for an extention he did,he paid for all materials and obviously all labour costs. The customer was wealthy and complained about stupid little things which the builder went back to alter,in the end the customer said he wouldn't pay at all saying the job was not done propery. The builder paid for an independent assesor to check out the job who said the workmanship was excellent, customer still wasn't happy and offered only £5000 which would of only covered part of the materials.
The builder tried to sue the customer through solicitors, they kept writing letters between each other and in the end the builders solicitors told him to settle for the guys offer of £10000 which he reluctently did as it had already cost him £3000 in solicitors fees.
Apparently the customer had shelled out £7000 on solicitors fees the wa*ker, should of just payed for the job in the first place.
Just thought of this thread cause of the trouble Kate (thread 'site conditions')has been having.
Have you not been paid for a job?
What was the reason for non-payment?
What action did you take?
If anyone had the gaul to try this with me I'd be on the phone sharpish to Wivers to come down in 'old faithful' and persuade them to pay up!
