oops....joiner would be paying for that out his wages and rectifying it did you leave him drawings

mistakes yes we all make them......bombscares no lol

Yep, had drawings and the 3d's. As for taking cost of replacement bits out of his wages, i can't decide if its fair to do it or not considering its the first time he has made a mistake like this. Personally if i had done it i would be offering to pay for the stuff.

That's exactly what I do

Whenever i've fitted kitchens i write on the all the size of the unit that is going there and any other info i need then look over the plan now and again to make double sure. I don't normally ask people to do things my way though, as long as the finished product is good.....I think he needs to start marking the walls!

Indeed it is. I went to school with 3 of the guys that work in the Howdens branch. 2 of them I grew up with & are really good pals so I get a fantastic price in there.

I also have a company that can do bespoke builds for me including granite worktops etc. Prefer to do the bespoke stuff my self though. Adds a bit of personal touch to it. That's the way my Dad taught me as I grew up & how I served my time as a joiner.

Bet you can't vinyl wrap a door though lol

Well if he dropped the clanger ! then he should ether pay in full , straight out ,or over a few jobs for you if you trust the guys work usually, everyone drops a clanger from time to time , has he got a problem in his private life going on ? make a few inquires ! as if he has he may well do it again,( not worth the risk then ) your call mate !! good luck .....

Why would you vinyl wrap a bespoke kitchen? Solid hardwood routered if bespoke. Anything less, Howdens lol

What I mean is you could have a run of units and say 83mm left at the end into a corner, not pretty with a filler so they would make the unit and door to fit in the space. If the customer has chosen a vinyl wrap door then that is when it would come into it's own. Howdens can't do that.

I was wondering if it had been something like that, theres a few small jobs coming up, i'll see if they are up to his normal standard, if not then i'll do something about it.

Never know, he might be getting jaded with the joinery game and his work is suffering for it.
