opinion on showing who looks at threads

just an observation guys and i thought it might happen,someone has complained about how many people have viewed a certain thread and hadnt had a response.....is this feature a positive one or do you think it will just upset peeps who maybe dont get as many responses as they would like?

How incredibly silly to complain that a thread has been viewed but no responses given. I have no idea which thread but is it not up to those who feel inclined or qualified to decide whether to respond or ot. Some people will oak about absolutely anything....... Grrrr!!

i know what you mean ,but on the other hand it allows the op to see whos been looking and if lots look and dont answer they may get frustrated.......the reality is that loads look at every thread and only a small number answer or i would imagine that is the reality...maybe better just not letting them see whos looking lol

I get what you're saying, but the amount of 'views' a thread has had, has always been visible, this new thing just names everyone that's had a read.

I tend to agree with Ajax, it's whether someone knows the answer but you need to read to evaluate what has been written...don't know what post it was but do sometimes miss one and when a post has so many answers I see little point in leaving a post unless I see somethink that has been missed.

I didn't even know about this facility till now. I choose threads based on the title and if it sounds interesting or like something I would like to add to then I will. I do look at many threads that I don't comment on.

Sometimes you look at the thread and then you see someone has given the same advice as what you probably were going to.

Sometimes people just want o know the outcome for their own info. Other times they may just be having a quick look while having a cuppa etc...I wouldn't read to much into it.

There has been times when someone asks for info and if they dont get it within 10 minutes they throw a strop.

WB was there before, yours only just showing up now but bri isn't. It was your name that I noticed, I saw a few threads where you and dan had commented but your names weren't showing up in the 'veiwed' list and these are recent threads after the feature was turned on mate
