Had a little tooth ache 2 days ago, yesterday it stopped hurting in my mouth and was getting pains all over my face, even my right eye was aching.
Went to the docs who told me it was some kind of tooth infection, get to dentist, phoned them up and got an appointment for today. No probs i thought, can handle a night of a little pain. O god how i was wrong. All last night it felt like someone was stabbing and burning my face, to the point of gripping the bed and shouting several load naughty words :) really serious bad pain, not a single minute of sleep.
Anyway finally got to the dentist today, had a quick look and her saying "o my god your mouth is a mess" didn't really calm me.
Told me i have 3 abcesses under my teeth, most awkward place to get them because they have no outlet, basically build up and are bursting to get out but can't hence enormous pain.
The gooey stuff (soz if you are eating) has to have a place to release and the only way to come is through the teeth. Had 2 injections to make my mouth feel like jelly, she then proceeded to drill eight small holes through my teeth to act as canals. Burst each abcess with a small spike and drained them out.
Now have to leave the holes in my teeth for about 10 days while the rest of the crap comes out. Told me it will be worse in the morning as a lot of puss will have gathered in my mouth, great can't wait.

Sure she drilled extra holes though so i have to pay more to get them filled in again :)

was thinking it may well be an avenue for Richard's 365 drills, diy dentistry!

Would that be the 6mm or 8mm drill, how would you hold the guide in place, and finally would you need to use water or would saliva and puss do the job?

Hmmm, Richard, I think a research grant would be in order here
