If you use a trowel alot then the teeth edges will be sharp..as you in theory are sharpening them against the substrate...

it was a trowel i got with a ardex kit i think. was cleaning it with a washing up brush me wife got me, went off the side of the trowel and got four quite deep slices on me thumb knuckle from the notches. bloody hurts. my legs went wobbly when i done it.
