Paintable tanking membrane.

Hi y'all, anyone heard of paintable tanking membrane, I have come across Mapegum which looks good but not specified application method - some one had said they trowelled it on. The measurement for the shower cubicle dorr is very tight and not a lot left after addy and wall tile hence a membrane that is as thin as paint is what I am after. Plenty of my chums have heard of it but no names - can anyone help out there please. Cow

I have used the mapegum in both my bathroom and en-suite shower cubicle when refitting them. I just painted it on with an old paintbrush to be honest. And then slung the old paintbrush in the bin after, saves cleaning

I'm not a fan of this type and prefer to use a membrane such as Schluter Kerdi or Homelux wall. These will only add 3 or 4 mm to the wall once installed.

I use Mepegum and apply with 4" paint roller.

Ditto......really good coverage with a 4" emulsion roller. I usually trowel blobs onto the wall quickly, then roller these in equally so its all nice and even coverage. Usually do a good few coats. I use a 3" paintbrush for the corners and joint tape. Im addicted to the smell of Mapegum!!!
