Plaster walls

Hello good people, just priced a job for travertine on walls, existing walls were skimmed plaster and not straight either so i advised knocking it off and
re bonding, the builder has just told me the plasterers have re bonded but haven't taken the skim off, they just pva'd i believe.

Will the skim take the weight of the bonding and tile?

Tiles are 400x400

Very doubtful but how thick is the travertine.

Haven't actually seen the tiles yet.

Just rang builder and he say's 10mm and 406x406

Just explain that the weight is over the limits as set out by British Gypsum.

I wouldn't fix them either but check the weight of them to be sure

Just rang Bal technical and they said solid wall would take 80kg per m, is this correct? I did explain about the skim but the lady just kept repeating how a wall would take 80kg.

Just rang back, they don't seem to know their ar*e from their elbow, spoke to someone else who was trying to put me onto someone with more technical knowledge but they had left the building, will try again tomorrow.
