Plasterboard and tile weight

render is one of the best surfaces to tile on and some cement based adhesives you can use up to 20mm deep 😛ete

tile onto the bl***y render! not a lot of peeps realise this, but a sand and cement render is absolute nirvana to tile onto!! (imo)😛unk:

I’m not a real tiler,
I will run a straight edge down my wall tomorrow and have a look but I think it’s OK.
I have only tiled on to dead flat surfaces in the house in the past so I am a little nervous of messing it up. I would be happier with plasterboard but you may be able to talk me round.
I've seen so many c***ed up p/board walls in my working lifetime that I put no faith at all in them without checking with a straight/feather edge first!!

The render is within about 5-6mm over 2 meters, So I will go for it, , I needed to stay tight to the existing wall if possible so this is the perfect solution thanks for the help you have saved me a lot time and money.
When I said I would rather work to plasterboard, I meant I would rather work to plasterboard I have put in.

with you there whitebeam, you can give your tiles a good slap too without the wall bouncing!
