I would check on regulations if I were you, I believe, and it would be good practise anyway, that you may have to use epoxy grout for food prep areas. Would also use White Star myself, BAL info doesn't mention suitability of Blue Star for commercial areas but that is just me, the extra cost involved for using a better adhesive is, in my opinion, never wasted - helps me sleep better knowing things aren't going to fall off.

The more experienced guys on here will I'm sure, also point you in the right direction direction.

use bal white star and grout with bal micro-flex ideal for food areas...
white star is highly flexible so itwill cope with any moisture expansion and the micro-flex has built in microban so no problems with listeria/salmellona or mould growth, then use bal microban Silicon to seal joints etc... hope this helps mate.. dave.........

Listen to your Uncle Dave,he's spot on.Government have said that any grouting to be done in hospitals has to be with microban protected grout, being that BAL researched and produce it speaks for itself.Personally I would use white star and prime 1st with Bal prime APD

I know Gaz, your advice is spot on mate (as always), was just re-enforcing the fact that you must prime plasterboard as some others have advised otherwise.

I would not dare challenge your knowledge of BAL products or tiling mate, maybe your sanity though:wink_smile:

If you think you're not going to make any csh dont do the job. Call them and say you'e foun out tht you need to use a different type of adhesives / grout than normal due to the area it's in although your labour price wont change.

If they want to pay a bit extra do the job. But dont get out of bed for nothing.

Gaz, given your new friend the Retailer tag as requested. The he is named Sandra though I think so I assume he's a She really. (judging by their email address anyway)
