Plastic tiling wedges

I watched a video the other day on the tube of you lol and this tiler was using wedges to compensate for tile differences 'i think' please correct if im wrong.

But if this is what they are used for wont they just cause the grout line benieth the tile look out?

Isnt this just a Kinda "stealing from pete to pay paul" situation?.

yes your right but usually the grout line is a disaster before you use it. all you are doing is moving half the error to the next line and minimizing the difference.

If a tile is 1mm out adjusting it 0.5 top and bottom looks better. ......joys of tiling with crap tiles im afraid and being able to get round these issues is what makes a good tiler. .

Wouldn't start a job without wedges! Before I found wedges I was messing about ripping and folding bits of card, so much easier with wedges.

Seen that type of video before - Confessions of a tiling contractor!
Bought a tub of some tile levelling clips once, didn't find them useful, but the yellow wedges are great for stone and large format tiles.
The Rubi wedges are always worth having in your tool box and in actual fact find their way to the bottom of the bag. That extra few mm always make the difference.

Apparently I confuse many people.
Threads about wedge shaped spacers and I introduced floor levelling clips ( or part of).

Wedges are great for natural stone,wouldn't be without them,I done 100s of m2 last year with the lash clips,once you get used to them which takes a while they do leave a spot on finish,I done 300m2 of polished porcelain with them and it was like a sheet of glass and a lot faster too

Which system did you use Dash?

Genesis mate,as I say it takes ages to get used to them,once you get the hang of them they are great

Never used and tile levelling clips, I can only imagine that they would give you sore fingers lol, been close to purchasing some just to see what they are like as many rate them and many slate them haha. As for normal wedges they are brilliant for many uses

I think they're great, I'm sure I got sheep's teeth by trying to chew down on regular plastic spacers to try and compensate for odd sized tiles

You can get the wee gun for the clips,but yeah I'm the same,I don't use them all the time but if you have big m2 they are worth a shout
I'm sure there will be some on here who like and some who don't

Didn't know there was a gun for the genesis lash clips? Or are you referring to the genesis system with red bits as that's all I see with a gun haha.

N&C sell that one as there own, not a bad one but the price of the gun is a joke.

I found N&C stuff near on impossible to find on the net, have local one were when needed.

The wedges from the lash clips are good to have, I end up giving them to joiners, they love them bigger wedges.

I very rarely tile without my small wedges now, unless I'm using Porcelanosa tiles or similar that are bang on size.
I've a big pocket for spacers & a smaller pocket for the wedges.

My fault there Phil as I started to introduce the larger yellow wedges that come with the floor levelling system!
As I mentioned they are useful for larger uneven sized tiles such as stone and porcelain.
Those little red Rubi wedges are extremely handy and they seem to come out of the joint easy!

No probs John I knew what you meant.lol. I can't work on walls without the little red Rubi wedges.
