Please help...Victorian geometric tiles...

Hope you can help. We have found some old black and white geometric tiles in our hall under some old porcelain tiles, they look lovely but they do not go with the natural travertine stone tiles that I am having laying. The guys are using flexible adhesive I would like to keep them for the future, but they don't go with my decor.

I am wondering if anyone knows if the flexible adhesive to lay my natural stone tiles will wreak the old geometric tiles?

take it you are fixing over the top of the geometric tiles

If they are being fixed correctly - Yep they'll be ruined. Hope that there is not a preservation order on the property!

Thanks for your reply I have no preservation on my property, but I don't want to ruin them. The problem is I don't know how to connect the two tiles e.g. farmhouse stone and victorian black and white in the hallway, any ideas? The guys suggested a door but could not come up with any type of divider on the actual floor.

What about a wood door strip to seperate the two..

As above, have seen a similar thing done and a 100mm strip of wood was used between the 2 floors. Looked realy good, better than putting a thin strip down.

I made some of those for our house, really nice hardwood, have a look in my albums from the hall to 5 doors I still like them now, everyone else does, too, it adds a kind of warmth to the look of a house.
