please help!!!!!

Hi I've just joined, my name is Karen. We bought a bath with a rim a while ago, not realising that when you have a shower all the water runs along the top of bath and onto floor!! Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to stop this? Is there some sort of curved tile or something we can fit? The water has now started coming through ceiling below.

As Dave said dont panic! Without trying to be funny, until you have this sorted try and use your bath instead of the shower to minimize any further damage! Get your pics up and I'm sure we'll get it sorted for you

Is the bath out of level across the width..?

Have you got a spirit level..?

If the bath is not level , then this could increase the rate water on the bath edge and onto your floor..

Also do you have a shower screen in place..?

just thought did you mean does rim go all round? If so no sides don't have rim, it's just at end

No shower screen. Bath level. It's just that water goes at behind rim and then drips off edge of bath.

What are you using to prevent shower spray from going over the bath edge, do you have a curtain or screen.?

Karen, hi, I had the same problem with my showerbath, one of those P-shaped baths. I don't know how acute the angle of your rim is against the I assume tiled wall, on mine it's very shallow, but the solution in my case was to 1) raise the silicone a little at the outside edge to encourage the water to flow back, and 2) as space restrictions meant a shower door was not possible I tug the shower curtain over that same outside corner of the bath, again to lead the showerspray back into the bath. It works perfectly - hope this makes sense?

A shower curtain, we try and tuck it round to stop the water going at the side, but the spray comes from other places, where the shower is. The rim is quite high on bath too.
