Just been reading about this after i heard it on the news... bad enough joe soap doing it but a policeman..??

Seems he also left the scene and was declared missing but found later with a hand injury.. so what that is all about pass.. nowt else said.

How did he forget about the dogs, the RSPCA state they get 6'000 calls a year to deal with dogs left in vehicles in hot weather..

So much for being animal lovers.

I went out shopping, saw it in the papers on display and got such a big sad angry lump in my throat - those poor dogs, what a lousy way to die, by stupid thoughtlessness! Whatever the reason, what the guy went through, but those dogs won't have understood and it's so horrible. I gave our cat the biggest hug (again :lol when I got home ... we just love them so much, our pets, don't we. Part of the family!

He's 49 so probably not far from retirement although ( I think I'm right here) if he gets fired he loses his pension.

He could depending when he joined, leave with 25 or 30 years service with a half/three quarter pension, but its normally 55 years old, I don't see how he can keep his posting to dog section, or keep his stripes after this latest story.

should'nt take a genius to be able to invent something that could allow fresh air into the dog vans, perhaps they should all have some kind of tilting secure sunroof with blind fitted, financial cost would probably be a lot cheaper than humane/training & PR costs when something tragic like this happens
