I've layed 600/600 black polished porcelain b&q tiles. Sealed them once before laying, once before grouting and once after grouting(plasplugs sealer). I am having a complete nightmare keeping them clean. Every footmark, water drop, baby dribble etc shows up and after a few hours the whole floor looks a complete mess. I have sealed it again and even bought a karcher floor polisher which is totally useless!
Is there anything I can use, a wax, polish or even a better sealer which will stop every slight mark showing up?

"Different manufacturers work to different standards to meet varying market conditions and requirements. The blueprint is not always adhered to as strictly in quality control and selection of 1st choice materials as in the past..."Porcelain" no longer guarantees a product that complies with the original standards. Therefore, installation methods, care and maintenance considerations, and performance expectations vary."

I have a newly laid 25sqm 60x60 polished porcelain tile kitchen/hall floor. Tiles were from B&Q and were sealed before and after grouting (as instructed on packs). The sealer was FILA Polished Porcelain Impregnator Sealer. The sealer was left overnight for each coat.

The tiles have only been down a week and appear super sensitive to staining from red wine, coffee/tea and grease. They also take up print ink from cardboard boxes. A disaster for a kitchen area.

Any ideas why this should be so and what I can do to reduce stain damage? Do I need to remove the Fila sealant before trying another type, e.g. Lithofin? Will this solve the problem? Can I remove existing stains from the surface?

Hi, these porcelain tiles from B&Q are of very poor quality and are very porous. I have used the fila polished porcelain protector and it is excellant. However the problem with these B&Q tiles supplied from China is that they have a wax coating on them which must be removed otherwise the polished porcelain protector cannot absorb into the tile. I have also had problems of the tiles staining and I have been able to remove the stains using the tile and stone stain remover from Topps. I have been able to also remove the wax coating, again with a product from Topps called Tile & Stone Stripper. Hope this helps.

I regularly use the fila products from Topps and can honestly say I have never been dissapointed. They also offer a billiant helpline via Topps - give it a go!!

By the way do not bother with the B&Q cleaners and sealers - they do not work!!! Have tried both Plasplugs and QEP - both rubish!!!

Totally sh*fted at the moment!
