I'm going to get some polo shirts for work, and not sure what colour to go for, i was thinking of Burgundy with a yellow logo. Any other ideas what colours to use.

Check this out - Broken Link Removed - use two contrasting colours, but test them out in Paint (on your computer) or something before going for it. Contrasting colours have issues when it comes to standing out, sometime confusing the eyes and making contrasting stripes and the likes look like they're moving or 3d.

Though get it right and you have your slogan standing out like no other.

One can only assume you have no standard colours, and I'd give that MUCH thought - Imagine yourself as the biggest tiling firm in the world, and what colour scheme you'd have everywere so people knew it was you and your workmen on 'that' job when they saw your leaflets, business cards, vans, shirts, and any other marketing tools / Point of Sale (pos). And get yourself a colour scheme sorted out, and push it always in your advertising!

Locals will get to recognise you just by colours when they see them. If you can have red and yellow like McDonalds, you'd be mixed in with them when a McDonals customer see's you - so you're heading for colours unique to you and your area - and contrasting to stand out also.

Hope that helps.

Dan, that is an incredible view ( ok capt, lickass) I've always been a bit old school ie "my reputation is my logo" but in these graphical visually enhanced days, we have to move, and hopefully be one step ahead, of the times. Think what catches the eye.
There is much much more to it these days, and any documentary on the economy or the differences between now and the indsutrial revolution will point out or suggest that consumers and businesses need and have to adapt.

There will be great oportunity at the end of this recession as a result of those falling during the process. But those that survive, and the guys with the experience have the greatest chance of course, will find themselves with MORE bows for their cross. But only if they get through these time in ANY way they can. And if EVERY way is the way to go, then give it a go. And if it's costs NOTHING then you're stupid not trying it, IF you're falling.

A bit deep there. But I've been checking out the changes between when I was last online (before the house-move) to the last week or so (when I got the net back) and it appears there are some older firms loosing out when I feel there is a LITTLE more they can be doing to compete a little more modern-like and you need to be checking out the Tile UK mag over the next few months to see some advice based on that, and other things actually too.

All the best to those who got this far in my post here lol. :hurray: :8::yikes::smilewinkgrin:

just like to add when I set out I took this very seriously. It dont cost a lot to make sure every thing matches i'e work shirts, vechile, letter heads, invoices, business cards, etc etc. you just need to set out from the start your scheme your going to follow.

If I needed a plaster at home I'd call NC Plastering. If I needed a painter I'd call Sexy Decoration. If I needed new windows fitted the 1st I would call would be Dorset windows and Glass. The only reason for this if I see them out and about all the time so they stick in my mind.

Yes I probaly see loads more but because they dont stand out with white unsign written vans and scruffy work gear mostly old football shirts from soccer sports. lol

but its what you feel is right for you I just think best not to leave it to chance!!

Black with orange text is a contrast that I like for my shirts, but it's nothing like my logo. My logo is plastered on all four sides of my van, and it is what gets me noticed and remembered.

Took a lot of red wine to come up with this.....
