I have set the Slimtech 3mm and 5mm large format tiles 60cm x 120 cm and 120cm x 240 cm from Spain. I love them for their looks and the ability to customize your design.
I took a simple glass cutter and scribed a swoosh like wave (coca cola like) across the tile and snapped it clean. I then used the same tile as a template to scribe with the glass cutter on a different colour tile and repeated the process allowing me to inset a custom wave like pattern across the wall and into the floor. Must do's!!! take all the time you need to prep d levee/plumb all your surfaces before setting. You have to back butter each tile with a 4mm v notch trowel and spread your mortar on floor/walls using a 6mm v-notch trowel. If you can't buy them then make your own trowels from flat plasterer's
trowel. Be sure to stone the cut edges of you tile as they come out razor sharp.
Have fun.

Are you guys a lot more experienced with these Porcel-thin tiles now or what?

@Ray TT @ Porcel-Thin has done a fair few Porcel-thin courses.

We even now have a Porcel-thin pictures category in the media thing.

You fitted any @DavidHoweTiling

Would'nt think a 4-6mm v notched trowels would enough for full coverage especially on the floors where it's needed.

I bet you could push them as a tiler to potentials and get trade from @Ray TT @ Porcel-Thin ? (Don't want to speak out of turn here mind I don't know if he sells direct or what).

Strummer is opening a tile store , so maybe he might look into them.

Yes , it's going to be a bolt on to the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom showroom.

There's only round my way who has them and don't have any on show except silly oblong sizes on a board which means nothing.

If Mikes doing high end kitchens then Porcel Thin will go well together.

well on avarage i train 4 to 5 tilers a week .week in week out when a client buys our tile we all ways say if your tiler has not used this format before get them to give us a ring and come in for some training thats how we have sold over 40000 m2 with very few problems we will not sell them to other tile shops now unless at least one sales person from that shop comes in to go through some training on fixing them .there are far to many tile shops selling products they dont understand giving all the wrong info to client and fixer alike .i have lost count of the amout i have had to sort out .with the big names selling thin tiles but leaving the tilers on there own to figure it out .not even returning there calls .well we turn away no one and tilers are welcome any time they need help .
