Porcelain Floor

HI lads first porcelain floor to price up tomorrow,

It`s 8 sqm what sort of price should i be looking at labour only,

as i have never layed porcelain before, it`s polished how do i go about it ie:

when do i apply the sealer and how long do i have to leave it before i can grout

is there any thing i should know as to laying these

How much do you recon for materials for this

Normally laying porcelain is pretty much like normal ceramics except that the tiles are harder. Use a flexy adhesive and grout. As for sealer, I have never laid poloshed porcelain so haven't used any products but I know Fila and Lithofin do appropriate stuff for sealing.

Couple of bags of SPF and a 10kg bag of grout will more than suffice. You didn't say what the floor was made of or what depth/width of grout line you will be having so the above is just a general summary.

make sure your adhesive is suitable for fixing porcelain and grout with flexible grout as normal grout doesn't adhere to porcelain..i use lithofin kf impregnator for polished porcelain etc....not all porcelain needs sealing it depends if its glazed or not.........have a read of this it should help you... http://www.tilersforums.com/tiling-forum/3215-porcelain-tile-care.html?highlight=sealing+porcelain
