Porcelanosa tiles

Has anyone noticed a bit of a drop in quality with some of their tiles in recent months? I'm finding a few are quite sizey and am finding a fair few blemishes, not something that you usually expect with their stuff.

Not had a problem with their tiles, but have had problems with their staff and promises of delivery that do not come true.

Staff comments like 'we have over 90% of our display tiles in stock'. But when the customer picked out 4 different tiles from the displays, they had to be ordered......then it was rolling excuses as to when the tiles were coming into the warehouse. They just make it up as they go along.

Yes. Last 3 jobs have all had size/quality issues.
Definitely shifted some production, I've had it from the horse's mouth so to speak.

It will cost them in the long run even if they increase profits now.

I've heard some of it's produced in China and boxed in Spain!!! Not that I've had any bad experience yet!!

are those the urban tobaco 45x45? was using them today the sizes all differed and the boxes were all stuck together

Been using some very poor Imolas lately too. Hard to get something that isn't sizey these days to be honest, even from supposedly good brands. Made in Malaysia, boxed in Italy. :lol:

I spoke about this a few months ago, I wasn't impressed with the standard of tile I fitted, 900x315, bowed like mad some of them.
6mm over the length of the tile, defo not the quality you expect from Porcelanosa.

heard from the horses mouth that, they have reduced thickness on some of their ranges, so that their clay reserve will last enough 8 years, but yes I am finding bowing tiles, where they never ever used to be, and packaging is a joke, with boxes stuck together, someone in the factory has OCD with the seloptape :incazzato: ! and I found yesterday the Arizona range is sizey by 0.5 - 1mm on height, which don't help on a 2mm joint :mad2: but in general still the better tile out there.

One of the best I've fitted for size wise is the Kito range from china.
Oh & the tiles down at Rays place, they were perfect..

I find that Chinese porcelain is usually spot on, give me it over Malaysia/Turkey/Hungary any day.

Absolutely. Some things can be a fraction of the cost to produce out there!! Look at hard drives etc for computers!

As Stef says down at Rays the other week no problem on sizing there, it can be done.

the only problem we get is batch numbers with them we had the same tile same shade but different batch numbers and colour difference was stupid so bad we wasn't going to lay them we find the urbatek floor tiles are the worst

Had some tiles from China last week a few were bowed but the biggest problem with them was the weight. 32kg psm. 600x300 porcelain and only 10mm thick.
