I' not a tiler by profession, but do quite a lot, especially with Porcelano.
I only use a wet cutter, so I cheat I guess.

What I do after cutting a tile that will be exposed, I use a flat sharpenning stone for knives and chisels. I dress the edges carefully and remove that minutes roughness.
Once laid and gouted, it's much much better than not doing it.
On Porcelano you can be quite aggresive as long as you stroke away from the upper side.
It may not be in the book, but it works for me:thumbsup:
