Depends on the client re price. I like big floor jobs and if the client hasn't got a clue they are taking a £500+ hit and labour just for prep that they never knew they needed. Worse still is they will usually have another 'tiler'/builder come look saying it's fine as is! So if they give me a look like they think you are just ripping them off with unnecessary work I do my best to explain why it is needed until they understand that I'm actually the good guy and try to keep my price for the mats and prep as low as possible to take the sting out of it. I'm still happy if I've earned a decent day rate.

My mistake, had a board covering 0.72 of a Mt should have been 0.96 of a Mt .
So yes, closer to £500 than my estimate ;)
I would still be looking at charging £650 to £700 plus a couple of days labour

You mixing your NMP with HB?
I was always doing that when I first made the switch to Hardi

Also adds a lot more £s and weight too which can be an issue on large wooden floors.
How do you find it quicker? Interested because I used to be a big NMP user until I found CTD and HB.
There are still situations where I prefer to use NMP eg bath panels as they are less prone to warping as NMP is solid rather than laminated - but that's also the reason I found them harder to work with and obviously heavier.
Though to be fair back then I used to use their mega strength glue which does speed things up massively but I couldn't believe how much firmer floors felt with HB and tile adhesive.

not having to mix up any adhesive and fixing with their glue and screws seems a lot quicker to me.
I'm not sure what the weight difference would be after you factored in the addy.
I guess It's just because i've done more with nmp than hb that i feel more comfortable with it and work more quickly with the stuff.

A faster and cheaper way as l had same issue and l do it on all chipboard floors now, this was recommended from kerrakol. The chipboard has to be screwed down first into joists obviously if there is massive deflection l wouldn't do it this way l would HB route. They have a membrane Hydro flex l think its called and a super flexi adhesive its quite pricey but goes far as your only using 4mm trowel. l also invested in a vinyl roller which makes putting membranes down superfast and you get full coverage. Then straight on top with flexi adhesive of your choice. lve never had a problem but the floor must be screwed down first l go over the top with this probably every 150mm-200mm. Floor must be primed before membrane.

Good to know, certainly speed things up. How's the glue work? Does it expand to fill voids?
It does expand but not really for filling voids. If the floor is flat and even i'd use it, if not I'd go with hb.
If you use nmp put the glue on the floor not the board as it's cleaner and you won't get it on your hands. Also, glue all the boards together.
