I would be looking for £30 a m2 for the walls. Presuming there is a window to cut & trim and shower fittings/pipes to cut round?
so 15 x 30 = 450. Then 50 for the floor. 500 and them supplying mats.
Do it 3 days or less and its a winner.

I charge £30 for walls be they ceramic or porcelain unless there are big flat runs, not too many of those though!

I charge £25 per m2 for wall tiling, plus I would charge day rate for doing the floor. Why charge £50 - £75 for the floor when chances are you wont be able to do anything else that day. £25 per m2 x 15 = £375 for wall tiling and £125 for doing floor plus all materials. About the going rate I would say. Or they can pay Joe Bloggs from the local paper who will turn up with B & Q crap and charge them £20 per m2. He would still come in around the £450 mark. Lets not forget they are getting a quality job by a trained tiler for £600 quid which they will be happy to look at for the next 10 years. Joe Bloggs would probably give them something that they wish they hadnt bothered with. Just my opinion but thats what I would be looking at for the job.

I have just quoted for a kitchen splash back (2.5 m2) plus kitchen floor tiled (4.5 m2). Total = 7m2. I quoted £300 plus materials. Got the job no problem because they saw my work at another house which I did for there in-laws. That equates to over £40 m2 plus materials for ceramic tiling. People will pay the money for a decent job is what I find as long as you are not astronomical with your pricing. I just done a bathroom (10m2) and charged £300 quid plus materials. MFI quoted them £900!!

Just been looking at the rates some of you guys have posted and although there is variation I do not consider there is that much difference. Which leads me too a question of my own.

Yesterday evening I went to quote a kitchen concrete floor. The customer had measured themselves and bought the tiles so I offered to measure up to make sure they had enough. The floof measured at 11 sq m including wastage. They had bought 9. They also needed the bathroom floor doing which measured 3 sq m
which they had enough for. The substrate was floorboards. I explained that it really needed to be boarded but could get away with a 2 part flexible so not to raise the levels and although more expensive would save on the price for boarding.

Now for the price I decided to go with a 20 per metre rate of 280 for both rooms rather than charging a day rate for the bathroom as I was also getting the kitchen. So that would have been only 60 for the bathroom floor. Plus materials brought it up to 396.
There was silence then thanks for coming goodbye. Does anyone feel this is excesive.

:huh2:

hi

just been out done a quote for a bathroom, 15m2 walls with ceramic tiles, and a 2m2 floor with black polished granite, he's got all the materials, just wondering roughly wat you guys would charge. just wondering if im along the right lines.

any help would be appreciated.

cheers

John

Again it all depend's on the tile's and how much cutting is involved, The wall tile's could be 100 x 100 mm, Larger one's are easier, Is the floor screed or board;s work m2 then round of to how many day's.

I take your point Whitebeam. The trouble is you get an indication from the potential customer if they expect the quote done there and then which in this instance was the case. I already know the price per bag of floor adi both one part and 2 part and also know the amount needed and grout prices. I felt that I was going too get the job there and then as I had priced down the bathroom floor and was surprised when the atmosphere went from a pleasant laid back one to silence. This is what has made me question the price.
