Pricing a job 'blind'

Like I said, condition of me going down was that I charged them. I also told them it could be more and / or it could be less. I don't think £500 less estimated £120 for fuel = £380 is a bad price for 15 m2 pricing blind. Or do you think that £380 is a bit steep ? How much would you have charged a mate if he said you had to Brh ?

Well, you are charing £25 per m2 (once you exclude the petrol costs), and they are supplying the materials?
correct?

15m2, with most of it being a floor, I couldn't bring myself to charge a FRIEND more than £250 plus petrol...

but then again I'm not sure I have any friends I would travel 250+ miles for to do a small tiling job, especially when it can't really lead to any follow up work... as they are miles away and so can't recommend you to anyone else local.

Thanks for the reply mate, yeah, I see where your coming from, overall I'm only about $100 over what you would have charged, as I've said though,it was a rough price and it could go up and or down, if it turns out easy / less of a job, then of course, I'll adjust the price 🙂

I think this working for family and friends affair needs a whole lot of looking at, if it happens again that is.

I think personally I probably would have just charged the fuel and travel and then do the job at mate's rate, ie: FA...
by the way...whats his wife like?🙂
