I went to look at a job on friday and i thought i would share this with you. I arranged to be there at 11am but was running 20mins late as i was just finishing off a job, so i rang the customer explained i would be late 'no problem she said'. This job was to clean her slate floor, and once i got there i explained what i was going to do. I cleaned two tiles and the grout so the customer would know what to expect once i had cleaned it. Then i explained how i was going to clean it and re-seal it. The customer said she had 3 other quotes, one guy was there 2mins and gave her a price, another guy priced it over the phone, another guy turned up 1hr later stinking of beer. She said i was the most professional, phoned as i was running later, did a test on the floor and explained what i was going to do. I was the most expensive and i won the job. So give the customer a call if your late, explain what your going to do in a way they understand. Customers dont always go for the cheapest price. Be professional, polite it will win you work.
