primer g

J

John the tile

ive used this today,

I would like to know if it can be watered down, because ive had conflicting advice. Tile giant says not and mapei tech depo says it can, 50/50.

Also what should the walls look like after its been applied and dried (2 hours laters.) Its left a clear shiny bit sticky surface on mine? Is this ok.

How do i know if ive got to give it another coat or not?

thanks

i'm sure it says on the bottle you can water it down, I do anyway, If the makers say it can I'd go with their advice over anybody else:thumbsup:

Always follow what it says on the packaging and not what some numpty says in a tile shop, if it differs from the bottle\bag or whatever.

Used it 2 days ago, left it for 2 hours and bob's ya uncle.
As long as you leave it as instructed your covered:thumbsup:
Never had a problem with primer G.

I'm with Fekin - how many times does the numpty in the shop tell you wrong:incazzato:

Only the other day I was told I couldn't get a radio attachment for the ipod from the currys variety of numpty, only to find that Google begs to differ - anyway rant over:incazzato::incazzato::incazzato:

Good stuff mate, shine is normal, if you dont feel like it's tacky enough after one coat just give it another coat.

I'm with colour on this one, i always water it down too. Just about a little is fine mate, don't worry too much. As long as you got more primer in the mix than water you can't go wrong

ok thanks all

how come it says 1L should cover between 5 and 10 m2 --- yet it covered 18m2 for me -- neat??

If you paint it onto a non or slightly porous background, it will go further than painting onto a highly porous one.

Lol Goldigger...... Relax, you'll start drinking the stuff soon. just spread it out and if you get 18m2 out of it great lol, you got more for your money!!!! All depends on how the surface soaks it up.

Remember if you aint happy with the tackyness of the first coat just give it a second until your mind is at ease that you done it right.

Good luck my man
