I too am a plasterer and tiler.
I have always used pva to prime for plastering does tile primer really work better? I'd be interested to know. Pva on an unpainted scraped artex ceiling can often just skin up where as a primer/sbr May soak in and hold better?
Just 1 coat?I use my tiling primer, normally bal sbr if I'm ever roped into messing around with the pink stuff. Just don't trust pva, although i know chemically, gypsum to gypsum it's ok (if it doesn't skin and if it stays dry)
