priming wooden floor

i am laying porcelain tiles using kerriquick and latex , i have boards screwed onto floorboards at 100m spaces, these are 12mm boards and are clean and dry, do i prime them and what with , i normally use pva , but have not used mapei before , please advise

What sort of boards have you fixed down ?

There'll probably be a pro online soon to confirm or otherwise, but as far as I am aware, you should prime the rear and sides of the ply with a synthetic primer, such as Everbuild SBR Bond (available from Tradetiler)

do you mean i should have primed the underneath of the boards before i screwed them down , this is no longer an option as kitchen has been fitted , please define rear and sides , of boards, :yikes:

As jimbob says, you should have sealed the underside and sides of the boards, this is to prevent moisture from getting to the board and distorting them.

thanks alan , i can see what you mean , i can only hope there is enough airflow under the floorboards to keep the moisture to a minimum , the undersides of the floorboards were completly dry when i was laying new pipework under the floor , but will i need to prime the plywood before laying the tiles

Fingers croosed you won't have any problems, when Keraquick there's no need to prime the ply first.
