problem angle

Hi all, i'm starting a bathroom soon, could have a problem where 2 walls meet, external angle, floor to ceiling, instead of the walls meeting at the usual 90 degrees, there's a strip about a 150mm peice been put in that would be at 45 degrees joining the 2 walls, my way of thinking would be to bevel tiles on the wet saw or failing that is there a trim that could be used, any advice welcome..... cheers

Don't grasp this, if bevelling the tile edges works go for it

if i think what your saying is that there will be a peice of plasterboard equally joining the 90 degree wall making it a 3 peice meet up is this right

if so make the adjoining areas tile straight cuts and mitre the edges on the meeting tiles coming of the other main walls this will look smart,do you have a wet cutter that does mitres

This was done with standard 90 degree edging strip. It isn't that noticable that the tiles don't sit square onto it.

The tiles weren't bevelled, they just butted up to the trim. They look a little filthy in the photo, that's because they need a clean as they've been behind the shampoo etc. Don't look too closely at the silicone! :lol:

use plasterboard to pull the angle square..

cheers fella's, a bit difficult to explain but i think kilty knows where i'm coming from, start the job next week (weather permitting)!!! see if i can get a pic, the photo will explain better than i can !!

Hi mate you can keep the square edges on the middle part but mitre the edges of the two tiles on either side.

I think this would be the easiest way. Just make sure that the tiles on the middle part of the wall are fixed plumb and the mitre cuts will be easier.

I am assuming you mean a wall that would be square 90 degree but it has been cut with two 45 degree cuts to form a sort of chamfered edge?

just ensure that you make enough over hang! hold the tile in position to work out where you will ned to start in order for the trim to sit just right (the same as you would with a regualr 90 degree angle)

apart from the bit of wall in question its quite straight forward, a decent size 25m2, a good one to get stuck in to, but yes take your point whem it comes to the wall i'll get a brew and have a think....

That's exactly what my photo shows . I used the standard 90 degree trim (although it's the fancy aluminium sort it's the same profile as the standard white).

2nd word is OFF :lol:

The silicone was my mistake on that one. I should have used clear in the corners over a small gap and grout. It was increadibly difficult to get a smooth finish over those tiles. One day I will probably strip the silicone joints out and do them again, in clear.
