Punching Tool

I just seen a Punching tool on BuyBrandTools website.
How does a Punching tool work in a dry cutter and how does it allow shapes to be cut out of tiles?
I take it you secure on the cutter where a scoring wheel would sit ... but what is the process from then on?

Rubi 45° punching tool for making mitre cuts in glazed ceramic tiles. This allows shapes to be cut out of the centre of tiles, with a 45° finish. Suitable for use with Rubi TS, TS-PLUS, TF, TR & TR-S manual tile cutters.

This tool is used to create mitres on the back face of tiles .. ideal when there is no power to use your wet cutter...as for cutting shapes in the middle of tiles then i can only see it cutting squares...but great for mitering on soft biscuit tiles .. no good on naturals ( coz iv'e tried it ) or porcelain tiles......these are just add on bits for the rubi hand cutter..... ...wet cutters do it quicker but handy if no power on.....

Does that mean you score the back with multiple passes ?

never found them much good for mitering easy to use a chisel and a rasp in the old days and as Dave suggests most people have a wet cutter now days

Yeah, I was just looking for the Rubi scoring wheels and at the bottom of the page was a punching tool and just wondered about it's use, thanx again.
