In Crewe we have Bentley motors, we used to have Rolls Royce until BMW bought them:incazzato:.

Crewe works at one time employed 14000 people making trains, they still manufacture and service but its down to 2000.

Chester barrie/Austin reed made high class suits (£500 upwards) thats now Cheshire clothing where you can buy a tailor made suit.

Head office for Focus DIY.........

We have Nantwich which goes back to the Doomsday book, Cromwell came by once, would have liked to have met that eejit down an alleyway.

And we have a very famous company..........The Diamond Tiling Co.

Famous People? Kathy Jones from "a handful of songs" :yikes: Pete Watermans Mum and some bird from big bro.

Lets have yours then.

Sunderland has the most productive car plant in Europe - Nissan

It has the busiest City centre shopping centre in the UK

St Peters Church, an Anglo-Saxon church in Monkwearmouth is one of the UK’s first stone built churches. Built in 674AD, the tower and west wall have original Saxon feature with in-situ carved decorations and is to be the UK’s nomination for UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2011.

We have an award winning coastline, with some of the cleanest beaches in the UK

We were once a proud mining and shipbuilding town (some of the best shipbuilders in the world) but sadly this all ended.

Can't really think of any more yet

We had one similar to this ages ago.. would be good to get some new ones from newer members since the last one..

I was gonna say that. And there's a similar one here too: http://www.tilersforums.com/general-chat/6620-tell-us-something-interesting-about-where.html lol

Stoke is already on the map. :)

We do pottery! (Or did, got Portmerion and a couple of very small independents left now, that's about it). And many of the tile firms you all know of have their head office based here. (Or did. lol) We have Johnsons and BAL now and that's pretty much it.

We have quite a few celebs and famous people from here but not one lives here as soon as they earn enough to get away. Which is a shame as there are a couple of nice spots here. Staffordshire is the greenest of all Shire's, in the sense that it has the most fields, not the least Co2 though.

And I've found no fact anywhere on this but in my opinion we have the most pot holes and road works in the whole of the world. That's not a good point, but a fair point.
