Hi guys

What's the best/quickest method of getting rid of PVA?

Would you just sand it down?

Is it possible to go over it with rapid set then prime and tile or not?

what's it been put onto Woody? sanding it off is probably the best option tho'

What substrate is it..?

It is plasterboard with a skim coat of something from wickes. 1 coat i think? Ive asked them if it was finish plaster and they said it is but it is the stuff you buy from wickes that can be applied upto 10mm thick?
I seen a tub of pva in the garage and asked him if he used for this one particular wall that he patched up for me and he said he used it before he plastered but can't remember if he put a coat on afterwards. I primed the wall with acrylic primer but it seemed different to all the others thats why assume he has used this pva. The primer easily scrapes off. Does that sound like it's been pva'd

Can't see why he would prime on top of the finished work, would use a course oxide paper over the surface of the finish to open the surface so you can prime

He said he thought it would help the adhesion of the tiles. He's not a plasterer or anything. Im doing it for my father in law and he went ahead and just done it as i was on another job.
