Doug: I'll give Travis Perkins a try, if not i'll give the aquaboard a look in wickes.

United: Have you ever used tilesporcelain before?

I haven't no.

Try Tile Giant for your aquapanel

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but Aquapanel is just over 1 m2 per sheet and Hardibacker just under 1 m2 so sometimes it works out cheaper using aquapanel

I found this info for Knauf Aquapanel, seems it'll do the job for me, and Wickes will deliver for the size of order i'll need.

Doug - is it likely i'll get the Travis Prekins stuff anywhere near £14/m2?

AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is a solid and durable tile backing used in wet and damp areas causing less installation costs. The cement board is 100% water-resistant and resistant to mould and mildew. AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is made of aggregated Portland cement with coated glass fibre mesh embedded in back and front surfaces. The ends are cut square and edges are reinforced for extra strength (EasyEdge®).
Benefits of AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Interior Systems

  • 100 % water-resistent
  • Resistant to mould and mildew
  • Only one single layer of cement board required for ceramic coverings
  • Supports up to 50 kg of tiling per square metre of wall
  • Resistant to deflection and impact
  • Non-combustible
More efficient and economical

  • Eliminates time-consuming specialised construction methods and materials
  • Ready-keyed for tiling; normally no sealant is required
  • Unique score and snap for faster, easier installation
  • The unique EasyEdge® straight edge improves adhesion between the AQUAPANEL® boards when using AQUAPANEL® Joint Adhesive (PU). The result is a stable construction.

  • Lower consultancy costs

Looks like hardibacker and aquapanel can be found about the same price/m2, excluding delivery - delivery could be a big factor for me.

Slightly changing topic - can these quartz tiles be polished up at the edges so you can corner with the edges to avoid using plastic corner trims (I hate those, they look so cheap)
