Hi all. Ive got a predicament involving a receipt. I priced a job up including undertile heating. the customer chose her own kit and I told her I could save her 20% if I bought it for her...which I have. Ive actually got a lot bigger discount on it than I expected and obviously feel its within my right to keep the extra. HOWEVER, the receipt obviously states the price on it!! which she will need for her warrantee (I would of thought). But even if this isn't the case, shes still going to want a copy of the receipt 'for her books'. Question is, how do I make my profit on it without her thinking im ripping her off!?(which im not as the discount is down to my trade discount). who bought it? You. Tell her you need the receipt for your books not hers.

You bought the UFH so that receipt is yours , if the customer wants one then type her one up.

Why does she need the receipt? They normally come with a registry form or alternatively it can be filled in on-line to activate the warranty.

As Martyn has stated you need the receipt for your records.

look if faced with this you tell the client i can get a discount on this and i will spit it 50 50 with you that way they pay a little less you make a little more everbodys happy .and nows the score

had this before with customers as above the receipt is yours and she can activate the guarantee / warranty through you...if she needs to show proof of purchase at later date she needs to contact you as you supplied it and the receipt is for your books

just write her a receipt for the kit at the price you quoted her 🙂 you receipts are yours mate

As many others you bought it so you keep the receipt. You then write her an invoice.
