removing toilet & sink

Just wondering how much a plumber would charge very roughly to remove a toilet and sink pedestal and then refit it back onto the tiling later on.

I have a customer who is probablly on a tight budget, so I dont know whether to recommend them having these removed, or whether to just tile around as neat as possible.

Would be useful to have a rough idea, and put it forward as an option.

DIY my friend. It aint that hard. Unless you know a plumber or got to know one who would give you a good rate if you used him all the time?

A plumber would charge at least £65 as mentioned before.

I would really recommend learning how to do this (it's really very easy) and then make sure your insurance covers it. Most insurers do as part and parcel of tiling - at least mine does - Zurich.

Just always remember to turn off the stop **** (main water tap) before any plumbing.

Last week I disconnected a washing machine and was quite surprised to find that it resulted in gallons of water blasting out all over me and the kitchen floor!

if there are no extras to supply Service valves, flexi pipes, offset pan connector, basin fixing kit new waste pipe or new water trap for basin then £65 about right

from past experience - most important thing is to make sure you have all the things you will possibly need at hand before you start.

I know it sounds obvious but there is nothing worse than having to drop everything and shoot off to buy a bloody 15mm olive!

I would argue that for a plumber to remove a wc and basin and then come back on another day and reinstall making the necesary adjustments and drilling tiles etc you will be lucky to et much change out of £150.

I'd have to agree with DS. Pipe will need to be extended or flexis fitted to take up change of height of the floor, adjustments to wastes and re drilling of walls, re sealing of sanitary ware etc. Easy a full day charge for removal and reinstall
