Hi all,

i know someone here in Cairns, who uses some sort of epoxy resin and colouring to patch chipped baths, vanities AND tiles.
I have seen his work and it is very good. I have seen some Portugues stonemasons years ago do the same with chips on granite.

I don't think old mate here is too keen to share his trade secrets, so does anyone one know what sort of product is being used and where I could find some technical information on the use and techniques of applying this type product.

I tend to replace chipped tiles, whenever possible, but some sort of spot fixing technique could be very convenient.

Cheers,

Nick

the fellows you refer to arent using epoxy, resin its polyester resin a 2 part polishable plastic like car body filler it is widely used in the marble and granite business and for plastic bath repairs ,it doesnt work well on porcelain so you will still have to chop your tiles out ,if you want to buy some resin, brand names include general and sebalrit ,you can buy lots of different colours and can get colour to mix with it for your own palette

They also sell one on E Bay its called Kilindex Stukko it comes in two base colours Straw & White. You can also buy the colours to match in
