A question for Rubi uk..

I have had 2 of the BL porcelain 110mm blades and both have shattered on me.. i asked the Rep to look into it and got zero response ... then through the grape vine i hear he said it was down to cutting curves.. lol..

Now i was cutting cheap 10x8 ceramics and a straight L-cut at that and it shattered on me... 2 blades did just the same and i get no reply..

Can you look into this .? or is it just swept under the carpet..

Don't want to sound abrupt but i could have been injured and all i wanted was a reason why.. is it because they are sourced cheaply in china or maybe just a manufacturing fault .. but please do not just ignore feed back from an ex very long time rubi user.

Hi Dave, we did find that some users do cut curves and this was causing an issue where chunks were removed from the blade. The instruction sheet that is supplied with the blade clearly advises that by cutting angles or using excessive pressure this can happen but we would not find this to be a manufacturing fault more user error. Having said that if you feel both blades have been used correctly and the same issue has occurred, please return them to the stockist you purchased them from who can submit a warranty claim and I will be happy to send them to Spain for further inspection and analysis.

Ps. Please remember to always use protective clothing and goggles when using any blade to avoid injury to ones self.

Does the tc 180 run on a rail guide like the festool circular saw? I've always wanted a tool like this, once thought about converting a conventional rip saw to do this. You could do some good bespoke work using this.

Hi Charlie, the rail guide for the TC 180 can be purchased separately as an additional accessory. Our product ref code for the rail guide connector is 50956. You also have the ability to connect multiple guides so there are no limits to cutting length.

I hope this helps.

when I was at topps a certain rep for rubi, called gary too, dunno if its the same one, told me that the 45 trowel idea came from Germany where the germans would manually bend them to facilitate the idea of a full 10mm bed. REALLY LOL!

This may too have been another reason how this idea came about...

Hi have just upgraded from tr600s to tx900 n but have noticed the scoring wheel is not centran to the breaker bar. it is ofsett to the left by about 3/4mm is this correct or have i purchased a faulty one. cheers Jason

The undertone of this thread kinda sums up the way the forum has been heading for a while, this guy is on trying to help rubi users and some people are a trying to make some fun of it. No wonder so many users used to be on here and no longer make an appearance but hey-ho.

Rubi v sigma round 200, rubi are good and sigma are better, or is it the other way round, well used to be a little over a year ago.

Mr rubi rep, dave is 100% correct, watch this forum and see everyone switching to sigma, there is no doubt this will happen but I wouldn't worry about it as there not anywhere near as many tilers on here to be swayed by the pro sigma propaganda as there used to be. I don't actually know any tiler in my area who comes on here, how do I know this? ... They all use Pva as bonding and most of them use rubi

Totally appreciate your comments. The forum is here for people to give their views, opinions and share experiences, ask for help or advice- anything... Everyone is entitled to say how they feel but hopefully over time we can get more tilers on here and going forward they will receive less one sided responses and answers..........
