Rubi Scoring wheels

Hi,

Can anyone tell me please what is the best type/size of scoring wheel for different tiles using a rubi dry cutter?

I am interested specifically in cutting 9mm thick porcelain floor tiles, and general ceramic wall tiles. Is there a hard and fast rule for choosing the right one? I have seen many types, some even made of gold!

JB,
I tend to use 6mm for ceramics and 10 or 18 gold for floors. Harder score with bigger/harder tiles.

If the porcelain tiles are large format id go with the 18mm wheel and see how it goes

The same here, 6mm wheel with a light score with a soft breaking action for ceramics, if you score too hard you'll chip the cut edge, bigger wheel with a firmer score and more of a snap to the breaking arm, that's the basics really, a lot will come with practice, really not too long a process to get to grips with.

I've got a 22mm (tradetiler) for the really tough large format stuff, a lot depends on which cutter you have as something 22mm won't fit into a ts40

Ok, thanks everyone. 6mm seems the consensus for soft ceramics, 10mm and above for harder and larger format.
