Ha. Cheers. It's never going to end is it. I will say that Rubi are very good cutters. Been around for a long time (some say too long) and well known. Each to their own on cutters. Whatever works for you at the end of the day is all that counts. I will not get invloved in anymore Rubi v Sigma threads.

Sigma is the best!. Shoosh..

Very gracious in defeat, that's nice. But, being serious, I'm going to try a sigma one day an then properly compare, I still need a 900mm cutter for my collection so maybe that will be my time to try one, it won't match all my red cases but maybe it will fit in a rubi box!

Ah yes I remember that video, the one where tiles were cut in half over and over again.........just like in real a real life tiling situation  My tx700 cut a 15mm strip off a 70cm porcelain tile today without breaking it, it probably wouldn't have cut it in half but, I didn't need to, nor will I ever need to

Ah yes Bri, I remember Gary and Ray going head to head, I think that was very much tongue in cheek. But in real life any tiler who needs to cut a 5mm/10mm sliver, also needs lessons in setting out. Long may Rubi rule.:thumbsup:just trying to stir it up a bit:lol:

I have used most of the Rubi range and yes they are good. I was pure Rubi and wouldn't have it any other way. You could tell me until you were blue in the face there are better cutters on the market I wouldn't have it. Then you get to try a few more cutters, Battipav, Tomy, Ray's and then Sigma. It cut everything I put it's way without fault and with no pressure. The cut was bang on every time and it cost less than what I had. Rubi are top a tree no doubt but Sigma are catching on fast and I have to say when you spend a few pounds on a cutter it better last a long time and do what it's meant to do. So now I have had a play with most cutters on the market and the Sigma beats them all on quality and price.

I've been tiling for 20 years and I've always thought I'd never use any other tile cutter than Rubi. when I was over in Holland I came across Rodia cutters. I've just bought the 120 spider. Absolutely fantastic! A much better cutter than Rubi. I'm just about to buy a 75 spider to replace my tx700. Its difficult to get hold of them in the uk. Toolnation is a good website. otherwise go to Holland
