Seal Guard / Sure Seal

Just to let you guys know, it is an impregnator sealer. Just in an aerosol for ease of application. Also available in a can if you prefer to paint or roller on.

As I'm a fan of sealguard aerosol because it's such a convenient impregnator sealer, but a bit worried about the health implications, would you tell us a bit more about that side of things and how to protect ourselves? Bearing in mind that lots of times we are working in small spaces, like shower alcoves, with other people, children and pets present in the house...

IMO the best way to protect yourself is to use on of These. You'd need to add both a Particulate filter, and a Gas filter. Used to use one while spraying with Aerosol's, and they're very good. 😉

i always use it, i think its quite good it stops water penetration in grout, only use it with the windows open or with a face mask on or u can get pretty high :dozey: lol

The product safety sheet states that in high concentrations it may cause
dizziness, nausea and headaches.

I fully appreciate the smell is not pleasant but as long as you have a window or door open you should be OK in small areas. Basically ventialte the area as much as feasible which I am sure you would do. If it does cause any irritation to individuals then I would suggest a face mask if your using on a very regular basis. On one off jobs you shouldn't really feel any effect.

Best advice really is just use common sense.

i have read up on it. its just hard to change to a new way when you have used something for so long, but i will be giving it a try!!
