Hi all just a quickie, I usualy use bluestar but have recently had a few failiures with tiles on the underside of the window. Last night my customer was washing in the sink when two tiles fell just missing him. Today he was all smiles and didn't seem to bothered........but this might not of been the case.
So who has good techniques or best materials for securing tiles to the underside of the window, especially a window you have made square resulting in a thick bed of addy at one side which is wet and heavy and does not want to stay where you have put it.
I DONT WANT THIS SORT OF THING HAPPENING AGAIN, any suggestions please.:huh2:

What was on the wall before you tiled it ?

You should only pack out using tubbed adhesive around 5mm max anyway, anymore than that and it's going to take a few days at least maybe to dry, so if the tiles are heavy'ish and thick bed of addy, hanging upside down, then thats probably your problem.

If you need to pack out alot, either use cement based addy, or fill out the wall with rapid set first, let that dry then tile.

Nothing Fekin it was painted, and quite flat in this case, I did comb a slighty thicker bed. I have used a Dunlop adhesive that was on site before and it was solid as a rock just wondering what others use for this problem which addys to secure the tiles was thinking to try bag addy or is there a good tub for this purpose. If I use rapid set how long to dry for this purpose.

You could pack out with a tile rather than a thick bed of adhesive. Allow the tilke packer to partially dry before placing the finished tile. Just a thought.

This is one of the reasons I only use the best stuff available, even though it can be more expensive. Don't think you would have had the problem if you had used white star, assuming you had prepped correctly of course. May be more expensive to buy but the extra cost now of going back to sort it has cost you even more now.

Good luck with getting sorted. Keep us informed if you find out what the problem was.
