that are self-employed have told me that its getting so hard to find-work , get-payed, and generally make a living that they are looking to work for company s now ! or even leave the industry ,how are you guys finding the feed-back from other guys/ trades ?

Hey up Diamond!
I'm not struggling for work, but my moans the other day tick everyone of the other boxes!!!!

I am quiet at the moment Dave and looks like I will be asking on of my lads to find something if it doesnt pick up in the next week ,it was the same for me this time last year and I ended up having a good year

Had a rough end to last year and genuinely thought about doing something else, all is well again now though, decent amount of work and seem to be getting a lot more from my regular contacts.

very quite at the mo....but same as gary, was quite this time last year, picked up in march, then there was no looking back...hope it dose the same, or its going to be a long year...

Fairly quiet for me too but not unusual for the time of year. I know of a tiler and a spark who have both packed in being self employed and got themselves a paye job. A CH fitter said last year was the worst he'd ever known. Others seem to have no trouble in finding work though.

Sorry to hear that Gary & Allen ,i have been there many times myself, and i really hope it picks -up for you guys soon

funny really, ive never struggled for work in jan, its allways feb, march.....must be when peeps pay the credit card bills for xmas, leaves them skint...lol

I struggled last couple of months of last year, been driving a taxi part time for 2 years to keep a bit of cash coming in. went very quiet November so I bought a minibus and gone full time. Got Monday and Tuesdays free for any small jobs that come my way.Its tough !!

Just week to week at the moment but still working every day so that's the main thing. Not too worried as it was the same last year then was working 60 hours a week since then until Christmas so it'll turn round soon.

Think there is always a delay with tilers between first fixes of other trades and special order tiles. If someone decides to do their kitchen up at the start of January, it'll probably be February by tge time it's ready to be tiled.

it tough dave, tougher than ive ever experienced.
this week has seen me lose my architect who ive known since a lad, rendering is getting near impossible to make any money at..prices getting ridiculous and when you consider that theres the weather to contend with, paying for scaffolding, labourers money and set back after set back after set back, then im finally at last realising that tiling and bathrooms are the best way for me.... as of next month i, sticking to tiling and bathrooms until i win the lottery lol . its hard in the tiling too but at least you are inside and not getting rained off every other hour.

At least Easter is early this year. Easter tends to kick start the home improvement side of things.
