i think far to cheap!! £250, for materials then + labour would be more like it,but obviousely think about cement board

I know this isnt really the correct fourm for this question but there has been a mention of the weight issue on plaster skim and so was wondering would screwing thin cement or hardi board into the studs on top of the plasterboard be a better option? Only ask because the owner and builder after listening to what I had to say arnt up for cutting out and replacing the skimmed board so if my idea is a no go I might have to give this job a miss as I dont want to risk everything ending up on the floor😳..

Any thoughts?
