Shower-room refit

First floor shower-room complete re-furb.

20 sq/m wall tiles and 6 sq/m floor tiles

Room has been 75% stripped by customer, so just last few things to sort out (remove old pipes and move to where required) and walls need priming and tanking.

Wooden floor all rotten and needs to come up.

Fit hardiebacker over new ply floor (was thinking 18mm ply + HB)

Fit large format ceramic tiles to walls & floor

Refit shower tray, enclosure, basin, toilet, towel warmer (all parts & materials except grout adhesive & sealant supplied by client)

Wondering how much to charge per m2 for the tiling, and how much to charge for labour of refit (I guessed around 20hrs labour for re-fit).



Was wondering if walls at £25 sq/m and floors at £30 sq/m with labour (for re-fit) at £20 per hour sounded ok????.... too cheap???

I work on a day rate, if job takes 4 days then multiply by it and add mats.

25 walls and 30 floors is very competetive. Do it on a day rate you're happy with, if you don't think you can make enough money charging by the metre

Id be charging more for the walls than the floor, especially as you are putting a nice new level floor down.

Whats the spacing on the joists? Anything over 450 centres and id up the thickness of the ply.

20 hours is under what it would take me to refit and adjust pipe work etc.
