Discuss Shower tray - grout or sealant (or both) in the British & UK Tiling Forum area at TilersForums.com.

I had a walk in showed installed last year and it wasn't long before the sealant between the last tile and tile tray started to come away (I could see gaps). I refilled the sealant, but it has gone all dark and I am worried about damp. I am now noticing that there is no grout between the last tile and the tray. Should there be? Should it be grout and then sealant on top?

Thanks!

There should be no grout between the tile and the tray, it should be a gap of about 3mm and this is filled with Silicon which is then tooled to the desired finish, use an anti-bacterial Silicon and dont smooth by wetting your finger with your tongue, use washing up liquid and water, if you are not confident with siliconing get some cornertape from "Cornertape" you will find them in the sponsors section.
