Yes they are not waterproof I would go for plasterboard and tank it or use waterproof backer boards like marmox a little trick by aquapanel make you believe they are waterproof even on there website they tell you they are but they are not ring them and they say you have to tank them to make them waterproofi meant aquapanels m8....like HEREAquapanel Backing Board 1200x900x12.5mm - Plasterboard - Plastering -Building Materials - Wickes .not boards
Yes backer boards are waterproof and only a two thirds of the price of aquapanals so why are you asking for help if you know what's best sorry but only tring to help no benefit to meyes i know nothing is waterproof, but these were recommemeded by lots of people even on other forums, they basically dont disintergrate, still stay strong even when wet, been advised no tanking is necesaary, however if i did tank the aquapanels how would the adhesive for the tiles stick onto the boards, after all tanking is basically a thin film of rubbery sealant...isnt it ?...so ive read and been advised..
ive already got the aquapanel boards delivered today...so its a bit late to change, cant see a problem though if i use a flexible adhesive like bal whitestar and some decent grout like mapei ultracolour plus...
