yes i know nothing is waterproof, but these were recommemeded by lots of people even on other forums, they basically dont disintergrate, still stay strong even when wet, been advised no tanking is necesaary, however if i did tank the aquapanels how would the adhesive for the tiles stick onto the boards, after all tanking is basically a thin film of rubbery sealant...isnt it ?...so ive read and been advised..

ive already got the aquapanel boards delivered today...so its a bit late to change, cant see a problem though if i use a flexible adhesive like bal whitestar and some decent grout like mapei ultracolour plus...

Yes backer boards are waterproof and only a two thirds of the price of aquapanals so why are you asking for help if you know what's best sorry but only tring to help no benefit to me

aquapanel aren't waterproof and whitestar is a dispersion adhesive so neither are suitable to a constantly wet area. Both are probably okay in a shower area that is used domestically maybe once, twice, tops a day but never use a dispersion addy on anything bigger than say 30 x 30's. (but I always use a cement based addy anyway as standard)
