5" is far to much, could you not use hole saws/cutters and an angle drill and then thread the waste through and use solvent weld waste too not push fit or compression joints cos once its in thats it.i`ve been to jobs where the seals have perished or not installed properly yeah you`ve guessed it water through ceiling.

cant move it forward Im afraid and ply gap as no room in bathroom (place is tiny - just enough for basin and toilet with not much space between) / stud work all up

Just did a remeasure and trap (screwfix one ) is 4" deep minus 3/4" for the ply floor I'll actually only need to remove 3 1/4"

you cant remove that depth

Even the shortest of low level traps are approx 4" deep due to a 75mm seal that is required

Can you fit the tray on a plinth?

Mira flights can be bought for resonable money and a riser kit to lift of floor, If not change the tray with a item where the outlets in the right place

would removing the 3 1/4" be ok

need to get home as stuck round mother in laws down midlands all week doing this its been one ball ache after another doing this job :mad2:

if not looks like I'll have to pack the rear wall out 1 to 2" and lose space plus redo all the water pipework and wastes and move the toilet / basin position :icon8: I think Im gonna cry soon

No

You should never cut joists for soil or drainage

You can drill the centre depending on depth but must have structual ply fixed to both sides of the joist

Buy a new tray,Mira Flight from PTS would be less than £120quid trade

faithhealer = Sorry cant raise it 4 " - the mother in law has had a stroke and that why I got a low profile tray - easy to step in and out of as she has limited movement on left side.

simhopper = Cant return it as had to too long (I had to send all parts to her home 160 miles away)

I'll just pack it out - seems like my only option do I just tank this packing piece as per rest of shower area and give it a a slight fall to help water run off?

Bodge!

Any step in a shower area will retain water, Its a failure thats waiting to happen, Changing stud walls, pipework etc will cost time and money,Buy a new tray and be done with it.

unfortunately Im doing this as a favour for the mother in law and can not afford this, its cost me well over what I was going to spend anyhow

surely this pack wouldnt be a bodge if it was done right with the right materials

PS Im not trade just a DIY'er doing someone a favour, so a mira flite at this size (1200 x 900) is over £200 notes also it has a centre waste so it will still be over the joist

I should have got an 800mm wide but she is err how can I put it - above normal size with limited movemment so trying to give her as much room as possible
